Brief Description: The Herrmann Collection focuses on the history of knowledge in the field of psychology on human memory.  In addition to books, there are also compact disc programs, tapes, and similar items, several of which authored by the collection's namesake.  There are additional artifacts in the form of found art, handcrafted and fabricated elephant statuary from around the world as well as bottles of so-called memory-enhancing elixirs.  The colleciton also includes a large selection of cartoons about memory.  Finally, the collection boasts two phrenology models as examples of the early "science" of memory.
