Indiana State University. Center for Instruction, Research, and Technology | Cunningham Memorial Library Special Collections

Name: Indiana State University. Center for Instruction, Research, and Technology
Variant Name: CIRT

Historical Note: CIRT was created to envision, explore, design, and evaluate new and emerging technologies to support teaching, research, and student learning. One area that has seen a great deal of development has been in the area of research support. This was a desire on the part of faculty after open meetings when the group was first created. Part of the role of being a catalyst will be to identify and acquire new funding sources for technology-intensive teaching, learning, and research projects. A few of the technologies CIRT are currently exploring include high performance computing, pervasive computing, new solutions to manage digital content, and enhanced methods of electronic data collection. Success in these areas and future ones will assist ISU in achieving institutional advantage in its application of instructional and research technologies.
