Historical Note:

The Department of Human Resource Development and Performance Technologies offers comprehensive programs that provide students with opportunities to apply relevant classroom principles to real-world industry situations and challenges.  Baccalaureate degree majors include: human resource development for higher education and industry and textiles, apparel, and merchandising.  Performance technology competencies designed into these programs focus on planning, managing, organizing, and evaluating business functions associated with both human and organizational performance.  Offering a balance of classroom study and experiential learning, these programs prepare students to lead in challenging career fields.  Additional department offerings include a minor in human resource development for higher education and industry and textiles, apparel, and merchandising.

Graduate programs offered include a master of science degree or master’s certificate in human resource development for higher education and industry. The department, in collaboration with the Departments of Built Environment, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, and Applied Engineering and Technology Management also offers a doctor of philosophy program in technology management with a specialization in human resource development.
